for the first time

in a long time

i now find peace

within the lines

that once confined

my know-it-all pain

this peace came from

a new-found strength

heavy on the desire

of who-knows-what

all that i know

is that i am not a ghost

my presence laid bare

in the eyes of those

who care

it is true

it is real

who i am

right now

deserves to be

ingrained

at the expense

of a back

that once

absorbed all else

around it

Descriptions:

Every spring, there is light. I have written this poem to commemorate the beginning of spring and to recognize that with the rise of a new dawn. There is an innate desire within me to be the best version of myself that I can be. Let it be known that darkness can only survive in the absence of light, and once that lively light shines down upon you, you can always turn around to face it and bask in it.
