A person reads a glowing book, surrounded by floating papers dated 1998-2001. Red ribbons swirl in the bright blue background. Curious mood.

Everything is nothing but a dream

Every day, week, month, year

Time rolling wheels still

Spin, in your

Head

Everything is nothing but your imagination

Images strung together by strings and

Pegs for your mind to say

It makes

Sense

Everything is nothing but a lie, quicksand

that traps, sinking into the void

Until you let go, blink the sleep

From your eyes

You just

Wake

Up

Description:

In this poem, the narrator ponders their existence and whether they are just living in a simulation. As the poem progresses, their sanity seems to crumble while the line length in each stanza decreases gradually. The last line is addressed directly by the narrator to the readers, raising questions about our world. This effectively prompts the readers to follow the narrator’s thought process in the poem, ultimately arriving at the same conclusion that they hope for.
