The fog of gray a mist over green,

But yet velvet beauty still seen.

Pointy heads and fluffy bodies;

Needles shoot like a hedgehog.

Flaky, scratched, dark umber base and

Ultra tall heights that reach the blue sky.

The sharp top is up so, so, high

And fluffed body turned to pointed.

In the snow your beauty is shown.

White fluff slides off your bony arms

And darkness contrasts the winter,

Pine tree of the dark luscious green.

Description:

I hope the reader can gain a sense of optimism about nature as a whole from this work. I wrote this piece in response to a simple prompt of a pine tree. Drawing inspiration from British Romanticism writing, I appreciated the beauty of the subject I was describing. I tried to keep a consistent meter when writing.
