About the Event
Appropriate for: keen learners in Chinese who wish to apply Chinese skills into daily life, and at whose homes Chinese is not one of spoken languages. Whether aiming at passing HSK level tests is not decisive element in your enrollment. You have the options to sit for a test at the end of the program for a certificate or not. This program follows the HSK textbooks, level by level.
Audience group: Mature Learners
Note that this program is offered to mature learners, with classes potentially mixed with the learners of 19 years old or above. Please do NOT register your interest, if you prefer a class of high-schoolers only.
Additionally, this program is NOT designed for elementary or middle/intermediary school students. Parents of the students of these grades, please do NOT register your children's interest.
Placement requirements: A simple test is necessary to help you determine whether this program is best for you. Before the start of the program. For example, you might be at a higher level of Chinese and HSK1 classes are not challenging enough. In that case, skip this level and when the future programs for higher levels rolls out progressively, feel free to join then to maximize your learning result.
In order to have that simple test - seriously, it has several questions for 5 to 10 mins - you will need to provide a valid email id to receive this test. This email will also be used to receive Zoom link if this program is just right for you. Thanks.
Class schedule: Every Tuesday 7:15pm - 8:00pm Eastern Time. 45 mins a class, 10 classes for this fall. Winter sessions will be arranged after fall.
Textbook? Homework? - You could purchase a textbook of HSK1 from amazon or borrow one if your local library keeps one. You don't have to, though, because the textbook will be screen shared during the class time.
A light dose of practice after class is recommended to enhance the absorption of the new things. As a mature learner, you decide the learning approach works best for you.
Class recorded? - No, for the privacy issues. None of the BEA classes will be recorded. Therefore no replay. Sorry for that.
Any further questions, please send them over to email@example.com.
Thanks for your interest. Looking forward to seeing you in the class!
