As they all were about to sit,
“Life is so good” is what I heard one say
But how am I supposed to believe it
When I cry myself to sleep everyday
He looked at me as though he read my mind
And I counted all the horrors he might find
“Life is what you believe it to be,” he says,
“It’s about all the good and the bad days,
This world seems black and white
Only to those who have lost their sight
And trust me no one loses their sight forever
This is just a phase and it will soon be over
Everything that happens in your life is an art
Believe me you won’t ever enjoy it
If you keep dwelling in its saddest parts,
The grass is greener on the other side, it’s true
But your grass looks greener from the other side too."
Poem description:
This poem is set in a crowded room where one person truly sees what lies in the narrator’s mind. As that person quotes about the beauty in life, the disapproval on the narrator’s face makes him realize that the narrator is going through a rough phase. The poem moves further as that person explains to the narrator about the beauty of life she is missing out on while living in its worst parts. There are certain bad phases of life which make us feel like this life ain’t worth the effort we put in. Believe me, we have all been there. A few bad moments you encounter can never outrun all the good times you have had. As they say, after every night is followed by dawn, this is a phase which will pass. I think one of the most important things about coming out of a rough phase alive and healthy (and by that I mean alive and healthy mentally) is having faith. Having faith it will be over. Having faith to believe you are stronger. When someone is sad about what is happening in his life I think he should take a moment to reflect that there are people in way worse situations than his. No problem of yours and I literally mean not a single one means the end of your dreams; means the end of you. Never. And they say the grass is greener on the other side but don’t you think for the person “on the other side” your grass looks greener too.
